Retro Cheer - No Cartwheels Required!

The first year the invitation went out 18 alumni cheerleaders full of pep from the 1950s to the 1980s. They brought it back with spirit and fun at a big game in gym. Some of the alumni had not been to a game in twenty years.

The group has continued to grow at each event with members from as far away as Washington DC. In fact, at the 2008 Red & Black Auction some of the team had a reserved table and presented Zoe Young with the first ever SUPER CARD of the Year Award. This year it was awarded to Catherine Jones for showing Extreme Cardinal Spirit and was given by Janet Altman and Claudia Becker.

The Retro Team also had the loudest float in the Corbett Fun Festival Parade July 4th, 2008. The Retro Cheerleaders are so much fun that they were part of an auction item at the 2009 Red & Black Auction Dinner. The item was "Dinner In The ENDZONE" at the Jeff Lucas Memorial Stadium with Retro Cheer Serving the meal for 20 people who purchased tickets. Team Retro helped raise funds for current sports programs at the Auction.
